Be Supported. Be Rewarded. Be United.
Scotland’s leading organisation for Scottish farmers and crofters.
NFU Scotland was formed in 1913 and is Scotland’s leading agricultural organisation.
NFU Scotland supports and fights for over 8,500 farmers, crofters, growers and other supporters across the length and breadth of Scotland. NFUS also works with its sister organisations in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as other rural, business and consumer groups, to deliver its mission.

Political Representation and influence at every level.
Influencing policy and change.
NFU Scotland is committed to promoting the interests of farming and crofting in Scotland. That means listening to all of our members and developing policies which are promoted to government and other influencers to make sure that Scottish farmers and crofters can operate in a fair and equitable political environment.
NFU Scotland lobbies politicians and meets with influential government decision-makers regularly, working closely to inform them of the priorities for Scottish agriculture and keeping rural issues at the top of the political agenda.
We influence government policy at Westminister, taking the case for Scottish agriculture to MPs, the Cabinet and the Prime Minister.
Through our office and dedicated representatives in Brussels, we get right to the heart of Europe where over €40 billion is allocated annually to the member states of the European Union under the Common Agricultural Policy. NFU Scotland continues to fight for Scotland’s share.
Creating a positive image of Scottish farming and crofting.
Influencing public opinion.
NFU Scotland has a prominent public profile through its forthright defence of the Scottish agricultural industry’s interests. We use this profile to tell the real story about farming and crofting through hundreds of radio and television interviews each year. We are widely respected as the voice of Scottish agriculture dealing with thousands of media enquiries annually on countless issues.
