Farming Membership
If you are a farmer involved in agricultural production then you can join NFU Scotland as a full farming member. Different sizes of farm business require different levels of support. To reflect this, our Farming Membership is based on a sliding scale.
Your subscription will be based on:
The aggregated quantity and grade of land that you are farming across all of your sites.
Farming members receive many benefits including; invitations to local, regional and national events, access to the NFU Scotland website and document library, local support from our network of support staff and local offices, all of our discount and service partners and helplines.
On joining NFU Scotland you will be issued a membership card containing a unique number. You will then have the ability to add additional family members working with you free of charge under our family membership.
Annual subscriptions from only £131 plus VAT.
Crofting membership
This membership offers you all of the benefits of our full farming category at a reduced subscription rate to reflect the size and challenging nature of this area of agricultural production.
Crofting members receive many benefits including: invitations to local, regional and national events, access to the NFU Scotland website and document library, local support from our network of support staff and local offices, all of our discount and service partners and helplines.
On joining NFU Scotland you will be issued a membership card containing a unique number. You will then have the ability to add additional family members working with you free of charge under our family membership scheme.
Crofters may join NFU Scotland as full members for an annual fee of only £89 + VAT

Horticultural Membership
NFU Scotland represents the interests of the Scottish horticulture sector. It does this by monitoring developments that affect the sector and by using its contacts with key influences within our governments and wider industry to protect and improve the trading and working environments for the sector. To ensure NFU Scotland is correctly reflecting the views of its members working within this sector, there are dedicated representatives, chosen by their regions and who sit on the Union’s Horticulture Working Group.
Throughout the year, NFU Scotland’s head office staff work closely with the representatives, the Horticulture Working Group chairman and others to take forward the priorities and actions agreed by the Group. That same structure is used to deal with arising issues. In addition to the Horticulture Working Group, many issues that affect both the horticulture as well as other sectors are dealt with by cross-commodity committees with dedicated NFU Scotland staff.

Professional Membership
Being a professional member of NFU Scotland can offer your company a number of significant advantages. On joining you will receive a unique membership number providing you with access to our website with many news releases and to help your business and the majority of our membership discounts and service partnerships. In addition, you will receive invitations to attend a whole host of events throughout the calendar year ranging from local branch meetings to our national AGM and Conference. We provide a number of helplines offering your business a range of support including: legal, tax, insurance, vehicle and energy with initial calls to these free of charge as part of your membership.
If you have a product or service that you wish to promote to our members you will receive significant discounts from advertising in our monthly Scottish Farming Leader magazine up to 50 per cent off the advertised rate. Should you have an exclusive offer you would like to promote to our members and be considered as a discount partner you have the opportunity to submit a proposal and have this considered by our Board of Directors.
On joining us your business will be issued with a certificate of membership, a membership card with a unique number and the ability to add additional colleagues to our mailing lists.

Associate Membership
This membership category is for those wishing to become a member of NFU Scotland who don’t fit into any of our other categories. On joining us, you will be issued with a membership card and unique membership number allowing you access to our website and access to a limited amount of our discount and service partners.
